UAE Ends Remaining Counter-Terrorism Teams in Yemen

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced the complete withdrawal of its remaining counter-terrorism teams from Yemen. The decision was made voluntarily to ensure the safety of UAE personnel and maintain the effectiveness of counter-terrorism operations.

The ministry highlighted that since 2015, the UAE had been participating in the Arab Coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen, contributing to international efforts against terrorist organizations and promoting security and stability in the country. UAE armed forces personnel made significant sacrifices in pursuit of these objectives.

The statement clarified that the UAE had concluded its primary military presence in Yemen in 2019 after fulfilling its designated missions. The remaining presence was limited to specialized teams coordinating with international partners. The recent withdrawal reflects a comprehensive assessment of current operational requirements and reinforces the UAE’s commitment to regional peace and stability.
