An Egyptian court has issued a one-year prison sentence with labor against Pyramids FC star Ramadan Sobhi, along with another defendant, over charges of forging official documents related to exam attendance at a tourism and hotel institute in Abu Al-Nomros, Giza. A third defendant was acquitted, while a fourth fugitive received a 10-year sentence.

The trial was held at Shubra El-Kheima Courthouse under the presidency of Judge Taha Ibrahim Abdel-Azim. The hearing witnessed the attendance of Sobhi's teammates Mohamed Reda “Bobo”, Sherif Ekramy, and Ali Gabr in support of the player during the verdict session.

Court records indicate that the case dates back to last May, when a man was caught sitting an exam on behalf of Sobhi. He later admitted receiving money in exchange for impersonating the player. The incident prompted the institute administration to file an official report, leading to further investigations and referral to the criminal court.

During the session, the court reviewed case evidence and heard defense statements, while the defendants denied all charges. Sobhi responded when questioned by the judge, confirming his occupation as a professional footballer.
