Zimbabwe secured an early advantage against Egypt during their ongoing match in the opening round of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 group stage, currently being held in Morocco.
Prince Dube scored the opening goal in the 20th minute after finding space inside the penalty area and calmly finishing past Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, capitalizing on a defensive lapse.
The match marks the first appearance for both teams in Group B, which also includes Angola and South Africa, making it one of the most competitive groups in the tournament.
AFCON 2025 officially kicked off on Sunday with hosts Morocco defeating Comoros 2-0 in the opening match of the competition.
